I Love My Job, Although It Made Me Not a Rich: A Librarian's Testimony

I am a librarian. I joined an international school in November 2001 as a Librarian, when we didn’t have a library in the school.

I am so lucky that I have been able to create a real library in the school and fulfill my passions through my job for the past ten years.

As a Librarian, I work as an information specialist in an academic library and I love my job. I love being able to help students and teachers find what they are looking for and also  to help them figure out how to get the information they need for their school works. And these days it isn't just about finding the information, it's also about helping people to learn to control the huge stream of information they have access to and to assess the usefulness of the information they have found.

Now, I am sharing this testimony with you, with the purpose of inspiring your mind and provoking you to put your mind to work and change the circumstances of your life for the better.

I hear a lot of (lucky) people say that they love their job, but many can't seem to give an exact reason as to why.

I want to give you reasons why I love my job, although my job doesn’t give me a big income.

           Marva Collins says:

There is no magic about my job
I do not walk on water, I do not part the sea.
          I just love children.

I love the school, especially my job, because it gives me lots of happiness and fulfillment.

In my job, I get to interact with different people all the time—parents, students or children, teachers, and sometimes volunteers. There is always someone new to talk to. I love the variety of my job.  Every day is a new day. (Before this job, I was an attorney in the law office).

The best part about my job is that I get to show kids that reading is fun. I get to introduce them to new books and hear about all the adventures they have in the books they read.
